Supreme Court: The Mediators of GSB

The supreme court is part of the Judicial Branch of GSB. The leader of this branch is the Chief Justice; the rest of the branch is made up of eight other Associate Justices. Justices serve unlimited terms until they graduate. As vacancies occur, replacements are appointed by the President and confirmed by the Senate.

Role of the Supreme Court

The supreme court's main job is to decide cases involving students. These include grievances filed by individual students or campus organizations against other students or organizations, including GSB. Other cases in the past have involved complaints surrounding the GSB election process. One other role of the supreme court is to enforce and interpret the GSB constitution, and determine the constitutionality of actions taken by either the executive or legislative branches. This role helps in checking the balance of power among the 3 branches.
