Role of the Speaker
The Government of the Student Body Speaker of the Senate is elected by the members of the Senate. The Speaker’s responsibilities include serving as the official representative of the legislative branch, chairing the Senate Rules Committee, placing legislation on the weekly agenda, and organizing Senate programs. The Speaker chairs the Senate in the absence of the Vice President.

Chairman of the GSB Senate Rules Committee, Ex-officio member of all Senate Committees.
About Me
I currently serve as the President of Acacia Fraternity until December 2009. I also hold the position of Business Manager of VEISHEA 2010. I'm a bit of a work-a-holic. I'm a Trekkie and I've order about 2 seasons of Star Trek on Netflix so far...and counting. I make link jewelry in my spare time, the very little that I have.
Goals for this Year
I want to keep senate full and work on retention of members. I want to see quality legislation being passed that benefits our campus and not be bogged down by in-house GSB issues. We are here to serve the students of this fine institution. I want to see this administration and senate work together to accomplish goals and make great strides in improving the college experience at Iowa State University.
