Outreach
The Government of the Student Body’s number one goal is to make every student, undergraduate, graduate, and professional, know that we are here to serve them. From funding various student organizations and offices, to listening to student concerns about their university, GSB cannot properly do its job without regular contact and communication with the student population. In order to do so the Turk/Peterson Administration plans to enact a number of policies to help improve the lines of communication with the student body.
- Officers of GSB will now be holding officer hours in various places on campus, such as the UDCC, the Hub, various commons locations, Parks Library, and other places outside of the Memorial Union, to help reach out to students.
- GSB will be taking a more active role participating in Destination Iowa State events, Clubfest, Homecoming, and other events to help better make our presence known.
- The GSB Website will be completely updated and restructured to be more user friendly and to provide a place for students to submit their concerns and read about the latest news in the student government.
- Letters to the Editor in the Iowa State Daily will continue to help reach a greater population of the student body to update them about opportunities and issues that are coming up in the GSB.
- Various town-hall style meeting will be held on a variety of issues this year to help better gauge student opinion on key issues.
