Funding Requests & Documents
Regular Allocations
The process to receive money through the Regular Allocations process starts every January. Organizations must attend one informational session where they will learn everything about the Regular Allocations process. After the informational session they will create a budget, have a hearing with the Finance Committee and eventually seek approval from the Finance Committee, Senate, and GSB President.
Purpose: To provide funding for the following school year.
Dates: Every January-March

Special Allocations
The process to receive money through the Special Allocations process starts every October. Organizations must attend one information session, as in Regular Allocations where they will learn further details about the Special Allocations process. After this session they will create a budget, have a hearing with the Finance Committee and eventually seek approval from the Finance Committee, Senate, and GSB President.
Purpose: To provide funding for the upcoming spring semester.
Dates: Every Octover-November

Senate Bills & Requests
The process for receiving money through a Senate request must be started at least two weeks before the money would be needed by the organization. The Senate has three accounts from which to request money for various purposes. Money can be requested throughout the year while school is in session. Contact the GSB Finance Director or a Senator to start requesting money from the GSB Senate.
Purpose: To provide funding throughout the year to supplement allocations and provide funding for projects and organizations at the Senate’s discretion.
Dates: Anytime throughout the school year at least two weeks before the money would be needed.

Line Item Transfers & Renaming
The Government of the Student Body provides ways to change your budget as the year progresses to keep up with organizational spending as things change. A written request must be submitted to the GSB Finance Director to be considered. Any transfer request of over $500 must be submitted before the last month of school. Transfer requests of under $500 can be taken care of during the summer months. All transfers must be done by June 30 to be approved for the current fiscal year.
Purpose: To transfer money between an organizations budget lines or change the name of a line to properly spend money.
Dates: Throughout the year. Requests of more than $500 must be done prior to the last month of the spring semester.

Carryover Requests
The Government of the Student Body provides ways to carryover money from one year to the next, should expenses need to carryover. A written request must be submitted to the GSB Finance Director to be considered. Any carryover request of over $500 must be submitted before the last month of school. Carryover requests of under $500 can be taken care of during the summer months. All carryovers must be done by June 30 to be approved for the current fiscal year.
Purpose: To carryover money from year to year in an organization's budget.

Evaluations
The Government of the Student Body is always looking for ways to improve on its processes and evaluate the experiences of student organizations. In addition to the documents below, please feel free to provide any input to the GSB Finance Director. These processes are not required, but are integral to the improvement of the GSB funding processes.
Purpose: To help GSB improve on its funding processes.
