About University & City Committees
A Division of the Director of Student Affairs
Undergraduate and Graduate students represent the Government of the Student Body on a number of University and City of Ames committees, boards, and commissions. Students interested in topics such as university budget and planning, Parks Library, athletics, VEISHEA, and student affairs to name only a few areas, should explore applying for membership on these committees. All students serving on these committees, boards, and commissions are appointed by the GSB President and report on a regular basis to the Director of Student Affairs. To search for vacant seats visit the Position Openings portion of our website to find information on which committees need student representation, and who to contact about applying for a position. All student representatives of University Committees & Boards are administered by the Director of Student Affairs and report to her office directly to inform GSB of actions that are being taken at the committee level.
