Role of Director of Information Technology
The GSB Director of Information Technology represents students in the area of IT at Iowa State University. The Director maintains GSB computer hardware, software and office network and works with all branches of GSB to create IT solutions. The Director of IT also oversees all changes made to the GSB Website.
About Me
Hello, my name is James Parrott and I am a senior in Computer Engineering and Computer Science. I am a member of Beta Sigma Psi Lutheran Fraternity where I have held numerous positions including: Recruitment Chairman, 2nd Vice President and Computer Chair. I love watching and playing sports, especially baseball and football. I have season tickets to Cyclone football and hope that we will make it to a bowl game this year with Coach Rhoads! I also enjoy playing guitar and piano and writing my own songs.

Goals for the Year
As Director of IT, it is my job to listen to students on how they think Iowa State's information technology can be improved. I have an open door policy and I encourage you to speak with me during my office hours. I want to hear what you think should be with done with ISU's Information Technology. Below are a few of my goals for this year.
- Update the website to make it easier to navigate and have more beneficial information.
- Update LegMan (Online Legislative Document Manager) to be easier to use and add more features.
- Purchase and install new GSB computers.
- Get RideShare up and running again.
- Send out monthly press releases pertaining to ISU's Information Technology endeavors.
- Speak with students and see what areas of IT can be improved.
