About Me

What’s up what’s up! My name is Elisa Berzins and I am a super senior this fall finishing up my double majors in Marketing and Management with a minor in Advertising. I am from the beautiful state of Colorado but went to high school in Omaha and Chicago. I ended up in the wonderful corn-filled state of Iowa to play soccer for the Iowa State Women’s team. I began my long-loved career with GSB my sophomore year as a Senator for the College of Business. I was fortunate enough to be voted into the Public Relations Chair and held that role for two years while continuing to serve as a College of Business Senator. I am an active member in Alpha Kappa Psi (coed business fraternity), Winterfest, SERVICE (Students Exchanging Resources Volunteering In Charitable Events), Personal Bible Study through Cornerstone Church, and of course the women’s soccer team. I am a huge fan of Cooler Ranch Doritos and XXX Vitamin Water. They were a staple during long senate/cabinet meetings! I miss the mountains and am hoping to go back as soon as a graduate and find a job! And of course… I’m here to represent! WOOT WOOT!

Committee Assignments

No specific assigned committees, but I float between all groups helping when needed.

Goals for the Year

Being in a flexible position as Director of Human Resource and Development, my major goal for GSB this year is to decrease turnover within GSB. I love getting new faces and having students try out the organization. However, to keep understanding within the walls, it?s important to have tenure in all of the rolls throughout GSB to help when we do have graduation and turnover. I hope to have GSB members remember they are in a student organization and students are allowed to enjoy themselves and have fun. I also am planning on reorganizing the structure on which we train incoming members on GSB to help with the transition.

I also am the go-to person for all GSB members. If any member has any questions or concerns, they should feel comfortable informing me. It will be important to that I create a relaxed atmosphere in which they feel they can address any issue that may arise. I hope to create and maintain personal relationships within all three branches to make sure that the students are fulfilling their job requirements while making new relationships within the university, gaining job-related experience, and enjoying themselves along the way.
