ISU Ambassadors is composed of four committees: Government, Media, Outreach, and Special Events. These four committees plan all of the events and accomplish all of the projects we do as an organization.

Government

A position on the Government Committee is a great opportunity for a Political Science or Public Administration major, or anyone who may enjoy working closely with our state legislators. Ambassadors on the Government Committee should be passionate about advocating student issues to Iowa’s leaders. In addition, committee members should have a solid understanding of how the Iowa state government operates and enjoy connecting Ambassadors with opportunities to interact with their legislators.

Media

A Journalism or Broadcast major would be the ideal fit for a Media Committee member; however, any students who are skilled writers and have interest in this committee’s projects are welcome. The ideal Media Committee member has excellent writing skills, is creative, is knowledgeable about current events relating to ISU and higher education, and would enjoy interacting with members of the media.

Projects for the Media Committee include:

Outreach

The ideal Outreach Committee member should be enthusiastic about our organization and knowledgeable about our goals. Most importantly, Ambassadors on this committee must be willing to share their knowledge and enthusiasm with members of the community and prospective members to aid in recruitment and to create a positive relationship between ISU Ambassadors and Iowa communities. Outreach committee members should be exceptional representatives of ISU Ambassadors and should be comfortable meeting new people and interacting with them in a positive way.

Projects for the Outreach Committee include:

Special Events

Ambassadors who are considering a career in event planning, or who want to be part of the public events ISU Ambassadors sponsors would be a good fit for the Special Events Committee. Ideal committee members are meticulous, organized, and detail-oriented, yet can stay focused on a final goal.
