Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get involved in GSB?
There are several different ways!
Senate - Declare your candidacy and run in an election for a senate seat. You can run for your residency or college or both, and accept whatever seat you may win. If there are vacancies throughout the year, senate seats are filled by their respective constituency councils who nominate individuals to fill these open seats, and the GSB Senate confirms their decision. Check for vacant positions on the GSB website and contact the Speaker of the Senate if interested.
Executive - Declare your candidacy and run in an election, or apply with the incoming executive for appointment to the Executive Cabinet. All individuals interested in Cabinet will need to fill out an application and complete an interview with the President, if chosen, the nominee must be confirmed by the Senate. Check for vacant positions on the GSB website and contact the Director of Special Projects & Administration if interested.
Supreme Court - Fill out an application and interview with the President. All individuals selected for the Supreme Court must be confirmed by the Senate.
Election Commission - Fill out an application and interview with the President. All individuals selected for the Election Commission must be confirmed by the Senate.
University Committees & Boards - If interested visit the University Committees & Boards section of the website and the Position Openings page for a list of open committee seats. Contact the Director of Student Affairs if interested.
